Greetings, members and friends. As President of IRPAS, I am pleased to present you with our second official newsletter.
In this newsletter, we update our members with the latest news and happenings within the Association and the IR industry. We are delighted to inform that we have officially launched the much-anticipated 2014 International Certificate in Investor Relations (ICIR), which is open for registration until 15 August.
We Want to Hear From You
We hope that you have found our current activities beneficial to your role as an IRO, and we encourage members to give us feedback and suggestions on how IRPAS can better improve its offerings. After all, this is your organisation, your community. Please also feel free to volunteer yourself or anyone you know who would been keen to share experiences and insights with fellow IROs.
Review of May and June 2014
These were another busy couple of months at IRPAS with preparations for the launch of the CIR, as well as planning additional professional development courses to offer members.
We have continued to host networking events and were delighted to see so many of you at the M Hotel on 28 May 2014 where Mark Laudi, CEO of Hong Bao Media, shared useful tips and insights into managing investor and media communications effectively.
The event with NASDAQ OMX on 18 June 2014 was also a success. Kevin P. Langdon, Senior Director of Advisory Services at NASDAQ OMX, shared with the audience useful tools and tactics to benchmark their IR programmes and measure IR effectiveness, as well as observations on best practices in IR.
More recently we conducted another event with Orient Capital, where Vivek Aranha, CEO, Asia, at Orient Capital shared insights into the growth of Investor Relations in Asia and the changing expectations of IROs with regards to a strategic vs functional role. The presentation in video and the presentation slides can be accessed here.
