President’s Address
Greetings, members and friends. As President of IRPAS, I am pleased to present you with our first official newsletter. In this newsletter we will update our members with the latest news and happenings within the Association and the IR industry. Do also visit our revamped website regularly for more updates and information. I am delighted to be able to reach out to our fellow members through these updates and hope that you will find them useful. Have a pleasant read.

IRPAS Mission & Ongoing Efforts
In line with our mission to elevate the IR profession in Singapore, and empower members to be effective IR professionals with the power of knowledge, IRPAS has been planning and rolling out regular professional courses and networking events. These are aimed at enabling fellow IROs to acquire relevant accreditation, enhance their skills in IR and establishing strong networks within the community.

Review of Q1 2014
The first quarter of 2014 was a great start for IRPAS as we were kept busy with developments on many fronts.

In February, IRPAS was shortlisted for two awards categories at Marketing Magazine’s inaugural PR Awards 2014 on the back of the IRPAS Investor Relations Roundtable held in December 2013. While we did not win an award amidst strong competition posed by other industry giants, it is a great encouragement to us as we work towards raising IRPAS’ profile in the industry.

In March, we organised our first networking session for 2014 with Simon Weston, Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Semeru CLSA Capital Partners, who provided insights into what investors really want out of IR programmes. It was an informative and eye-opening session attended by many members of the IR community.

In April, we held a networking session presented by David Shriver, Managing Partner at Tulchan Communications and Pamela Kustas, Equity Analyst at Bloomberg. David and Pamela shared international perspectives on the role and importance of social media, particularly in helping listed companies provide timely online intelligence and establishing meaningful investor relationships.
